The California Maritime Academy is located in Vallejo, CA and can be reached via Interstate 80. For more explicit directions and transportation info - see below.
BAYS attendees will all be housed within a dorm at The California Maritime Academy, with each room accommodating two students.
Every attempt will be made to keep those students from the same school together within a dorm.
You will be required to bring a sleeping bag (or sheets) to place upon a twin bed, a pillow, bath towels, and toiletries. It is also recommended that you bring an alarm clock.
All meals are provided 'cafeteria style' within a block of time assigned to each group. You will be assigned to your group during registration. The food is delicious and there is more than enough -- vegetarian meal options are also provided. Your first meal will be served at 'brunch' on the first day of camp, and the last meal will be 'breakfast' on the last day.
Dress is an extension of your regular school dress code. Consider bringing your shorts, t-shirts, a jacket, and a sweatshirt (just in case). For safety reasons, you must wear shoes or sandals.
You may bringing extra money for snacks, telephone calls or recreation. However, all materials (with exception - see Required Materials) and meals are provided to you at no extra cost.
All parking requires a permit that you must request at check-in.
For recreation and fun, we will have a Talent Show on the second day of the seminar. The winner of the talent show will receive $200 in CASH! Therefore, if you plan on participating, bring your props and music tapes/CDs with you. Each performance should be no longer than five (5) minutes. Group participation is welcome.
Off Campus. B.A.Y.S. is responsible for your whereabouts and well being during this seminar. Therefore, for that reason, we allow no attendees to leave The California Maritime Academy during the camp -- even if you drive and have permission from your parents. There is NO EXCEPTION to this rule.
