Teaching the fundamentals of creating a yearbook as been the cornerstone of our seminars. Each year we provide a solid foundation for all beginners and our students leave the workshop ready to start the new year.
With this in mind, B.A.Y.S. instructs students in layout design, interviewing, graphic design, artwork preparations, copy fitting, photographic planning, marketing, public relations, legalities, journalistic responsibilities, and quality journalism.
We understand that most schools send us students who intend to become an editor. In response, we offer separate general sessions designed to enhance student leadership skills while working on such subjects as: faculty and administrative concerns, communication with professionals and their fellow staff members, deadline management, publisher's production, and staff motivation.
This course will provide future and returning editors with materials and ideas that will make their yearbook successful.
This is a fourth year for this track that focuses on the yearbook's financial management, selling to the student body, and product planning.
Business Managers will develop a complete and personalized marketing plan for their 2010-2011 publication.
