BAYS Goals

Yearbook Exchange

Every year, the yearbook staffs bring extra copies of their school's most recent yearbooks to trade for other school's yearbooks. This is a great way to build a yearbook library so your staff can gather ideas to start off their brainstorming sessions.

Just to be fair, you need not give away a yearbook unless you get one in return. Also, we ask that you do not bring books over three years old for trade.

The Goal

At B.A.Y.S., we plan on working hard! We have instructors and group leaders whose main goal is to help your staff develop an exciting plan for the upcomming year. Our instructors are highly experienced at working with yearbook staff students, and they bring a positive attitude to each session. B.A.Y.S is committed to goal setting and answering your questions.

Concepts in design are an integral part of the yearbook's package, and in addition for your staff members, we have professional yearbook artists available to help design covers, endsheets, interior art, division pages, and graphics. This benefit is included in your basic fee; all you have to do us commit to a time with our artists.

Our main goal of this seminar is to help you return to school with more than just basic skills. You will leave camp with a theme and the means to execute it; a complete ladder with color in place, cover and endsheet design, a budget, up-to-date technology information, and proven methods for staff motivation and efficiency. In conclusion, our yearbook camp provides a team and a friendship building experience that will be the foundation for future leadership on your yearbook staff.

The "No-Talent"
Talent Show

Okay, we know ya'all have talent!

B.A.Y.S. also understands that it is just as important to build a "team" atmosphere for the staff, as it is to provide them with the knowledge needed to create their yearbook.

Therefore, to reward attendees for all the hard work they do at camp, time will be provided for relaxation with planned activities that include team-building exercises; the "No-Talent-Talent Show" contest is one of those activities. The first place winner will be awarded $200 in CASH.
